360 Picks: Week 10

Picks involving a line set by Las Vegas were an issue for our computer last week, as we went 4-8-1 against the spread and 3-9-1 in over/unders. Fortunately, we were a respectable 8-5 in Straight picks to salvage what has set up as an abysmal week. We press on, determined to bring you a stellar week.

First let’s look at how we’ve done, then we’ll move on to this week’s selections.

Straight up: 4-1 on High confidence picks, 4-4 on Low. 8-5 Overall
Straight up season: 36-16-1 on High confidence picks, 42-39 on low. 78-55-1 Overall

Spread: 2-1-1 on High confidence picks, 2-7 on Low. 4-8-1 Overall
Spread season: 18-19-1 on High Confidence Picks, 45-50-2 on Low. 62-69-3 Overall

OU: 0-0 on High confidence Picks, 3-9-1 on Low. 3-9-1 Overall
Season OU: 5-14-1 on High confidence picks, 47-73-4 on Low. 52-88-5 Overall

Parley Picks: Missed, 0-1. 0-9 Overall. The Bengals didn’t cover, a rarity for them at home
Suicide Selections: 3-1, 26-10 Overall. The Forty-Niners fumbled away their game and our second consecutive 4-0 week.

    360 Picks Week 10:

Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills:

    Line: Chiefs by 2.0
    Over/Under: 42.0

Analysis: I’m still not a Billiever. But the Chiefs have been playing excellent football of late. Kansas City is also 11-1 ATS on the road under Andy Reid.

    Straight Pick: Chiefs
    Spread Pick: Chiefs – 2.0
    OU Pick: Under 42.0

Confidence: High on all three picks

    Miami Dolphins at Detroit Lions:

    Line: Lions by 3.0
    Over/Under: 45.0

Analysis: Two 2014 over performing teams meet in Detroit. Both are playing solid defense, so expect a close game and points to be at a premium.

    Straight Pick: Lions
    Spread Pick: Dolphins + 3.0
    OU Pick: Under 45.0

Confidence:  Low on Straight and the Spread; High on the Under

Dallas Cowboys vs Jacksonville Jaguars (London):

    Line: Cowboys by 7.5
    Over/Under: 45.5

Analysis: Tony Romo should play, he’s probable, but Dallas should be able to defeat the Jaguars with or without him. Ross Tucker has been saying all week that the Cowboys should give him the week off and allow him to fully heal up during the bye. If Brandon Weeden can’t quarterback this team to a victory over the lowly Jacksonville team, then Jerry Jones should fire himself for allowing Kyle Orton to force his way out of town.

    Straight Pick: Cowboys
    Spread Pick: Cowboys – 7.5
    OU Pick: Under 45.5

Confidence: Low on Straight and the Spread; High on the Under

San Francisco Forty-Niners at New Orleans Saints:

    Line: Saints by 5.0
    Over/Under: 50.0

Analysis: The Saints are money at Dome, going 11-0 straight up and 9-2 ATS in the past two seasons. San Francisco is embarrassed after fumbling away last week’s game against the Rams and will give New Orleans a run for their money before dropping their second straight by a field goal.

    Straight Pick: Saints
    Spread Pick: Forty-Niners + 5.0
    OU Pick: Over 50.0

Confidence: High on the Straight; Low on the Spread and the Over

    Tennessee Titans at Baltimore Ravens:

    Line: Ravens by 11.0
    Over/Under: 43.5

Analysis: Before getting smoked by a piping hot Steelers team last Sunday Night, the Ravens had been playing some of the best football in the NFL. They will return home following back to back losses to division opponents. Tennessee will be the recipient of their frustrations in a game that may not be close at halftime.

    Straight Pick: Ravens
    Spread Pick: Ravens – 11.0
    OU Pick: Under 43.5

Confidence: High on the Straight; Low on the Spread and the Under

Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Jets:

    Line: Steelers by 5.0
    Over/Under: 48.0

Analysis: Pittsburgh hung 51 on the Colts and 43 on the Ravens at home and now travel to the Meadowlands to play the Jets under the “Fire John Idzik” banners at Metlife Stadium. The Jets secondary is a mess, the front office is under siege, and Teflon Rex Ryan is calling or calm. Everything is set up for Pittsburgh to dominate for a third straight week. When everyone is jumping off of a team, that’s when you jump on. Or, if you prefer, when everyone is jumping on a team, that’s when you jump off. J-E-T-S. JETS. JETS. JETS. For the upset special of the week.

    Straight Pick: Jets
    Spread Pick: Jets + 5.0
    OU Pick: Over 48.0

Confidence: Low on all three picks

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

    Line: Falcons by 3.5
    Over/Under: 46.5

Analysis: The Falcons are an abysmal team away from the Georgia dome, going 1-11 straight up and 3-9 against the spread in the past two seasons. Tamps Bay is not much better, posting 3-9, and 4-8 records respectively and they are changing quarterbacks again, going back to ineffective veteran Josh McCown over Mike Glennon for reasons that are only clear to Lovie Smith. the Falcons get their second road win in two seasons.

    Straight Pick: Falcons
    Spread Pick: Falcons – 3.5
    OU Pick: Under 46.5

Confidence: Low on all three picks

    Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders:

    Line: Broncos by 12.0
    Over/Under: 52.0

Analysis: Denver is 12-1 on the road, while Oakland is 1-11 in home games, but Oakland has a habit of covering, going 7-4-1 against the spread. Take the points.

    Straight Pick: Broncos
    Spread Pick: Raiders + 12.0
    OU Pick: Over 52.0

Confidence: High on the Straight and the Over, Low the Spread

St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals:

    Line: Cardinals by 7.0
    Over/Under: 43.0

Analysis: There is a school of thought that Arizona may let down after beating the Dallas Cowboys to take the throne for the NFL’s best record. But this Cardinals team is too well coached and too scrappy to fall to a division opponent. Especially one that just beat another division opponent on the road.

    Straight Pick: Cardinals
    Spread Pick: Cardinals – 7.0
    OU Pick: Under 43.0

Confidence: High on the Straight and the Under, Low the Spread

New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks:

    Line: Seahawks by 8.5
    Over/Under: 45.0

Analysis: The Giants travel across the country on a short week to face the Seahawks at quest field. And their starting cornerbacks may be Chandler Fenner and Jayron Hosley if Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie can’t play the entire game. While it’s possible for the Giants to win this game, it’s highly, highly improbable.

    Straight Pick: Seahawks
    Spread Pick: Seahawks – 8.5
    OU Pick: Under 45.0

Confidence: High on the Straight and the Spread; Low on the Under

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers:

    Line: Packers by 8.0
    Over/Under: 53.0

Analysis: The Packers have owned Jay Cutler in this match up, especially in Green Bay. With Chicago in disarray and Green Bay playing outstanding football, don’t expect that to change this week. Points will come in bunches.

    Straight Pick: Packers
    Spread Pick: Packers – 8.0
    OU Pick: Over 53.0

Confidence: High on all three picks

    Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles:

    Line: Eagles by 7.0
    Over/Under: 47.5

Analysis: Carolina gets back the left side of their offensive line just in time to face the Eagles defense. It will provide the boost needed to take advantage of an Eagles defense that can be scored upon. Meanwhile, Mr. Buttfumble himself, Mark Sanchez takes over at quarterback for the injured Nick Foles. Rumors are now swirling that Foles was about to be benched for Sanchez anyway. It will be interesting to see how the former fifth overall pick performs with weapons at his disposal. Giants360 is town between wanting to see the Eagles lose and wanting to see Sanchez succeed to increase Jets fans eternal suffering. The struggle is real.

P.S. If you want to see the Buttfumble video, check the Giants360 Twitter account. It’s been tweeted multiple times. It’s. Never. Not. Funny. #SorryNotSorry

    Straight Pick: Panthers
    Spread Pick: Panthers + 7.0
    OU Pick: Over 47.5

Confidence: High on the Straight, Low on the Spread and the Under

If you want to play a parley: The best of the high confidence picks… Packers – 8.0, Chiefs – 5.0, Seahawks – 8.5

If you’re in a suicide pool: In order… Ravens, Broncos, Seahawks, Packers
