Hakeem Nicks may miss his second consecutive game of the season. He started training camp this season by breaking his foot, leaving him out for most of the camp. When he returned for the last pre-season game and the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, he was still not fully healthy. During his outstanding game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he had his bad ankle stepped on by a Buccaneers defender and slammed his knee into the turf on the same play.
That knee injury he suffered then has still not fully healed and has swelled up during the week. Because of this the Giants have listed him as doubtful for Sunday Night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. One thing to keep in mind is that Nicks has been known to be a fast healer, so hopefully he could get healthy enough to play between now and then.
The Giants players who have been listed out for Sunday’s game is David Diehl, Keith Rivers, who never seems to be healthy, and Jayron Hosley. Hosley has played very well for a rookie cornerback so far, making it imperative for Prince Amukamara to play another solid game against this explosive Eagles offense.
It is becoming more and more clear why the Cincinnati Bengals had given up on Keith Rivers. The man is always banged up. When he is on the field he is productive, but the name of the game is to play not to sit.
